Chicago gun violence ends easter weekend At least seven people were killed and dozens injured, including a man who was shot nine times while pumping gas, authorities said Monday.

The 33-year-old victim was at a gas station in the 3700 block of West Roosevelt Road. Chicago’s Home Square neighborhood Chicago police said three suspects opened fire on Saturday around 11:18 p.m. The three suspects then fled in a white Infiniti.

Despite being shot nine times, the victim drove himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. A 31-year-old woman who was in the car with the victim was shot in the right shoulder, ribs and arm and is in critical condition, police said.

A total of 21 shootings were reported between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday, according to data released by Chicago police Monday morning. Of the 33 victims, seven were shot.

Another gas station shooting on Chicago’s East Side Saturday night left one man dead from a gunshot wound to the head and another victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.

A mass shooting on Chicago’s West Side on Sunday morning left a 19-year-old woman dead and four others injured, police said. The victim was inside Poppy’s Chat Room cafe when an unknown suspect opened fire on a group of people, hitting the woman in the head.

Other victims include two girls aged 16 and 17, a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman.

Chicago police officer injured in traffic stop shooting

A 16-year-old boy was shot to death on a sidewalk in an Austin neighborhood Sunday afternoon just before 3 p.m., police said. Three other men, two aged 25 and one aged 21, was injured in the shooting.

Police said two suspects parked their car in front of a crowd on the sidewalk, got out and opened fire. The suspect then fled the area.
