Gaza’s health ministry puts war death toll at 31,112

In the early morning of February 29, 2024, Gaza City residents rushed to rescue trucks as the body of a Palestinian was carried away in a donkey-drawn cart.

According to the health ministry in Hamas-controlled Gaza, at least 31,112 people have died in the more than five months of war between Israel and Palestinian militants in the area.

The latest death toll included 67 deaths in the past 24 hours, a foreign ministry statement said, adding that 72,760 people had been injured in Gaza since the war began on October 7 when Hamas militants attacked Israel.
