Tacoma police are investigating after they discovered an “improvised explosive device” outside Craft Cannabis on Friday.

Bean owns three other cannabis dispensaries in Wenatchee and Vancouver and opened the Tacoma store two years ago, but he told Fox 13 he noticed the location started being targeted as early as February.

Bean told Fox 13 it all started when his 35% off sign was stolen.

“This all started after we completed the remodel and reopened,” Bean said. “We even started getting threatening calls.”

However, all the thefts and threats took a serious turn on Friday when someone tried to burn down one of his buildings.

Around 6:00 a.m. Sunday, police said an officer drove by the store to investigate reports of a fire.

Two people fled the scene, officials told Fox News Digital. The fire was put out immediately, no arrests were made and no one was injured.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the attack to contact them.

Tacoma police told Fox News Digital they are continuing to investigate the incident they believe is related to other incidents. Officials said follow-up actions will also be taken to determine a motive.

Police added that store owners believed the attacks were retaliation for offering products at lower prices than competitors.
