Israel resumes attacks, Palestinian death toll reaches 31,112

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said that Israeli attacks in the past 24 hours have killed 67 Palestinians and injured 106 others in the besieged Palestinian enclave.

Since Israel began its military offensive on Gaza on October 7, a new wave of Israeli attacks has killed 31,112 Palestinians and injured 72,760 others.

The situation continues to worsen as Israel blocks the coastal enclave and starves the Gaza Strip.

Israeli fighter jets and shelling hit houses in the Zaytoun and Sabra neighborhoods as well as in the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

Warplanes also targeted the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza and the Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, the report added.

In a Ramadan message, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman called on the international community to end the “heinous crimes” taking place in the Gaza Strip, where Israel’s war has been going on for more than five months.

King Salman, the custodian of Islam’s two holiest sites, thanked “the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its blessings” but noted that the war in besieged Gaza would cast a shadow over the holy month of fasting and prayer.

“As we witness the onset of Ramadan this year, we are devastated by the continued suffering of our Palestinian brothers in the face of ruthless aggression,” he said.

“We call on the international community to fulfill its responsibility to stop these heinous crimes and ensure safe humanitarian and relief corridors.”
