Ohio tornado kills at least 3


As many as three people were killed in Ohio after multiple tornadoes ripped through communities across the Midwest overnight, leaving debris and severe damage in their wake, according to reports. ABC 7 Report on Friday.

Indiana authorities report a catastrophic tornado hit Randolph County, leaving multiple injured.

Officials in multiple counties also reported tornadoes causing severe damage across the Plains and Midwest.

A half-mile wide tornado also struck the village of Lakeview, where local authorities responded to the mass casualty incident, destroying homes, buildings and residential structures.

Authorities in Indiana say they are working to confirm reports of deaths from a possible tornado that ripped through Winchester.

Here, strong winds tore away large building structures and tangled metal siding around trees and power lines.

“We don’t know the exact extent of the damage to the south end of town, but we do know that some buildings and homes have been completely destroyed,” Indiana State Police Chief Doug Carter said.

“Our laundromat is gone and the old plastic building has just been completely torn down,” said Amber Fagan, CEO of the Indiana Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. “It’s terrible,” she added.

“It’s very bad. It’s pure destruction. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.”

Images posted on social media showed damaged homes and hailstones the size of baseballs in Jefferson County, Indiana.

Officials in nearby Kentucky said the storm damaged at least 50 structures, including homes, and officials noted that they would not know the true extent of the damage until the sun rose at night.

In central Illinois, severe storms brought heavy downpours, high winds and hail, causing trees to fall to the ground.
