A star-studded fundraiser hosted by President Biden in New York City was repeatedly interrupted by protesters inside and outside the event, who clashed with New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers on Thursday night.
The protest moved along Sixth Avenue and Avenue of the Americas in midtown Manhattan, outside Radio City Music Hall.
The fundraiser, which reportedly raised $25 million, also included panel discussions with Biden, former President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton. The Q&A session was moderated by Stephen Colbert.
Protesters interrupted the meeting, with one shouting: “You’re crazy.” Outside, many participants shouted: “Genocide Joe, it’s time to leave.”
Other protesters continued to interrupt the three presidents’ speeches on Gaza, with many chanting “You have blood on your hands.”
Actor Sean Hayes posted a photo from the fundraiser on Instagram. He was photographed with Biden, Obama and Clinton, as well as actors Jason Bateman and Will Arnett.
“This is a historic moment,” Hayes captioned the photo.
